[IN DEVELOPMENT]

Chasing Beauty is a deeply intimate personal narrative of a British-Iranian first-time filmmaker, brought to life in collaboration with StoryTell-Her Studios. The film delves into the impact of beauty standards, both culturally and globally, highlighting the increasing prevalence of cosmetic surgery—particularly in Iran, which has one of the highest rates in the world. For many young Iranian women, nose jobs have become a rite of passage, with the trend spreading throughout the Iranian diaspora. Though they value their Persian heritage, these women are still heavily influenced by the beauty culture back home and the global rise of 'Western beauty standards.' Iranian doctors have raised alarms about low costs, weak regulation, and the damaging effects of online influences. Through the filmmaker's own transformative journey, the documentary explores the emotional and psychological toll of these pressures, exposing deeper societal questions around identity and beauty.

This project stands as a testament to StoryTell-Her Studios' commitment to empowering previously hidden and under-nurtured female voices. Often debated through media columns and social commentary, issues like beauty standards and oppression are given new life here, told from a personal perspective. We provide a vital platform for women to take center stage in their own lives and narratives, bringing their stories to a global audience.

The project is currently seeking development funding.
